This month we were thrilled to sit down with the gorgeous Ella Zampatti, Founder of The White Files - a wedding directory, blog and styling service. Ella took some time to talk about what keeps her inspired as a thought leader in the wedding creative space.
E + A: Tell us about you and The White Files!
EZ: I started off as a stylist years ago helping brides find their dream dress. After a while I realised how many dresses out there were so generic and traditional. So, like so many brides do these days, I took to Instagram to search for new and different dresses and then it evolved into what is now The White Files! When I do shoots I want them to challenge the traditional bridal stereotypes, injecting contemporary fashion into a bridal context.
E + A: What inspires you as a wedding tastemaker - how do you keep your work so fresh and avoid horrible bridal cliches?
EZ: Everyday style is something that really inspires me. Avoid anything that’s traditional for the sake of being traditional. I just look for something current and contemporary - but not something that is so driven by trends it’ll date.
E + A: What should a bride-to-be prioritise when planning her day?
EZ: I’m a big fan of the ‘Bridechilla' movement. Remember what’s important, it’s a celebration of love between you and your partner - that’s what you should prioritise.
E + A: What trends are you predicting in bridal fashion in 2016 and 2017?
EZ: A continued movement away from plain whites and ivory. Blush is still strong. Anything sheer and hints of nude are also my picks.
E + A: Which other wedding industry creatives do you admire?
EZ: Australia has so many talented wedding creatives I wouldn’t know where to start! My curated wedding directory on www.thewhitefiles.com has a list of my favourite Perth and Melbourne vendors, with an Australian wide directory coming soon!
